Every year on May 31, who and its partners in the world celebrate World No-smoking Day dedicated to highlight health risks associated with the consumption of snuff and promote effective policies to reduce this consumption. The consumption of snuff is the leading preventable cause of death in the world, and currently kills one in 10 adults worldwide.

April 22 2015  According to some studies, and the information provided by the global Customs community, illicit snuff market could lead to a tenth of the cigarettes smoked in the world. In many respects, the illicit trade in snuff products is a major concern worldwide, in particular as regards health, law and economics, governance and corruption. It is necessary to ratify the Protocol to eliminate illicit trade in snuff products, to meet the financial, legal and health implications of illicit trade in snuff products.
